I affirm your goal of leaving it out and on the counter, if at all possible. How else will you use it with ease!! I was going to clear my counters with my new kitchen- and had everything put away. The 1st time I went for my Kitchen Aid mixer--which is big and heavy, I decided- it can STAY on top. JW is ok with that fortunately. But I put the food processor away as well as the small Forman and the waffle maker, rice cooker, etc. On my counter are: knife block, auto can opener, Mixer, and coffee maker. I love you Edgrens.
