I'm just now reading this post as I have fallen behind in my blog reading. Your blog goes along perfectly with a new tv ad for Baskin Robbins that just makes the kids and I giggle and laugh every time we see it: There is a mom and little boy sitting at the dinner table. The dad is in the background at the sink doing dishes and the little boy has a plate full of peas left that he obviously doesn't want to eat. All of a sudden as the dad is leaving the kitchen he says "if you finish your plate, we'll go get a Oreo Explosion at Baskin Robbins". As soon as he leaves, you see the mom reach over, grab the plate of peas, hold it up to her face and start furiously eating them (as they are falling all over the table), then she scoops up the fallen peas on the table with her hands and stuffs them in her mouth. All of this is so they can go to Baskin Robbins!

It makes me laugh and then when you write how you "motivated" Weasel, Slug, Nettle and the rest....it all came full circle. Funny how Baskin Robbins gets anyone motivated in a hurry!

Thanks for the blog, Tim!

Love your Tuesday parenting entries.

Doing a job diligently and thoroughly is a major issue right now with us and unfortunately, I know I lack the motivation myself to stick to the training this all requires! :-p

Thanks for sharing.

Another GREAT post! Thanks. I can always count on you guys to make me LAUGH about everyone mundane things!

Washing the car... check.. I just took it to have it detailed today.
Cleaning the garage... check... Our "hired grandma" just did that the other day.
Weeding the flower beds... check... same "hired grandma" did that as well.
Washing the windows... check.. the professional window washer came last week

hmm... I wonder what I'm teaching my kids (LOL)!...

don't answer that! And.. hey 1/2 way to MT.. they may as well keep coming. I could use a few more hands for a week or so to get me back to square one.

Good tip.LOL I'm more of a note person myself. Whenever my kids are learning a new chore, I type out every single step to that chore on a piece of paper and then tape it wherever that chore is located. Then all I do is follow up and make sure that each step was followed.lol

Blessings,

Lisa in Jax (who's hoping for the easy life someday...)

I'm glad to know we aren't the only ones who wash our car once or twice a year! :)

We recently took our car into the shop to get some work done and they washed the outside, vacuumed the inside, cleaned the windows and left a mint on the seat.....well, all except the mint.

I was sweating having to clean it before Ian come home...tomorrow!...but all I had to do was take it in, pay $1,700 and they did it for me!!
