Thanks for commenting today. It is sad that we are having to cancel…but it is also a blessing for me, I am swamped and haven’t gotten nearly half of what I need to finish up before Christmas done. If I was smart…really doesn’t matter what I am about to type…because I don’t listen to my own advice…I would pretend we were gone and use the time to get the shopping and cleaning done instead of being a candle making maniac. I had the time slotted out, anyway…but the orders will come in and I will use my “More is better” side and make more..and more…and more…

I loved your two posts about Advent. The kids must totally think you’re the coolest. What sort of things does your BIG big like in his? I would guess that tea candles aren’t his thing.

btw: my big boy was the hardest to buy for this year….remember the meatball and eggnog list? You should let me in on things you got your son.

Great ideas, Kathy. We always had the Bible verse advent calendars when my sister and I were growing up… but I love the idea of making December a month for celebrating the holidays. Thanks for the post.

I think the “having your cake” in the saying refers to keeping it on hand, rather than in your stomach. So the phrase means you want to enjoy the prospect of it and enjoy eating it at the same time, something you can’t have both ways. (sorry, I just had to add another cliche)
