Great end to a great story. Back in the early 90's I lost my engagement ring . . .our story didn't end as good as yours did but it sure brought back memories.
Congratulations on your find and thank goodness we are all photo crazy!

So glad you found the ring! We had a similar thing happen with my Mom's wedding ring (in her possession 54 years) this Christmas. You have inspired me to post about it on my blog soon - but I won't be as eloquent or funny as you all! You are the best story tellers around!! I truly enjoy reading your blog. :)

Michelle - that's my other serious fear, that my diamond will fall off. My mom lost her diamond when I was in elementary school and has worn a gold band for as long as I can remember. I definitely need to take the ring to a jeweler and just have it checked and cleaned.

We were all thanking God that He helped us find it. I had no idea how we would find it in a big (messy) house. :)

Anne - Tim laughed and laughed at your "wind above my wings" line. Too funny!

Tell her to start eating some ice cream so it doesn't fall off like that again!!!
Or let her be skinny and get it resized. I vote for the ice cream, though.

Hey I am with Childlife, where is the masked madman who goes by the monker, Bummer Man. Eager to see him in print!
Yeah for finding your ring. I am sadly, still missing mine. Perhaps for a wedding anniversary or something I may find a replacement one day.

YAY!!!!!! I know the feeling of being mortified when you look down and notice your ring being gone. I looked down back in June and noticed that, not my ring, but the diamond in my engagement ring was missing. AGHH. We looked EVERYWHERE!!!!! And to this day we haven't found it. (how do you find a diamond?) Anyway.....we decided that it isn't the ring that is important, (I was pretty distraught) but it is the wonderful marriage we have that is so important. I decided to replace it with a simple gold band so that I wouldn't have to worry about losing it ever again. YAY!!! for great marriages.

Hee hee. Loved the nuclear reactor -- that Kathy, she is a Proverbs 31 woman! What with managing the house, caring for the children, simmering stews, creating nuclear fusion (or fission, whatever)...what a gal!

Bummer Man does ring a bell. My David also has an uncanny knack for deflating observations even the cheeriest soul cannot counter, which is why my mom calls him "The wind above my wings."

LOL at the 'Bummer Man'! We would like to know if there is a cape and goggles that go with the title? If so, we request photographic documentation...
