New budgets (or as DR says, "cash flow plans") are like muscles that haven't been used in a while. It takes time to make them strong and until you use them enough, things are going to be sore for a while. Persevere through this... it will get better. We've all been there counting the days until the end of the month and the next paycheck... even when we just got paid yesterday. Sigh. Do not despair... it will get easier. Hang in there, Kathy. I have been shocked to find that areas I didn't think we spent much on have been completely socked lately- like Dr copays or organization dues and fees. So clearly I am finding out that I need to budget things seasonally as well as monthly!
