I wonder if it's because you and Mike are McManus fans. On top of the 20 mile hike up the top of the mtn, which is a family rite of passage.....there was the "lite" hike......the day I learned to AWAYS bring hiking boots shopping forever more....we left the stores for a lite hike....and as I read about the hike later at geocaching.com it said "recommended for horses or ATV only". ::snort:: BTW I didn't do the 20 mile hike - I was watching the young ones who weren't ready for this family rite of passage. I failed the rite 22 years ago - got left on the path amidst the bear tracks..... Oh Tim – we are home from vacation and had some of these same TYPE of hikes. Other people's reviews of a hike are always subjective; a fact that's hard to remember when we're first smitten with the idea of an outing. But you made it! Huffing and puffing notwithstanding, you survived both the up and the down, you pondered your mortality, AND you got several photos which included your first-born son into the bargain. All in all, a successful adventure, wouldn't you say? Our sympathies, Tim!
