About

The Duckabush Blog is named after a valley (and a road, and a river) where we used to live, and where part of our heart continues to be. Tim’s parents are building a Christian Retreat Center there; you can read more about that at The Refuge website.

We liked the name and so we have kept it as the name of our blog. Mainly this weblog is about the goings out and comings in of our branch of the Edgren family. Originally authored primarily (and sporadically) by Tim, in 2004, Kathy’s Project 365 revitalized the blog and her posts dominated for several years. Recently, we are trying to be more intentional about using the blog to chronicle our family’s history (mostly for our own future use). We hope you enjoy it!

  1. I’m not sure how to contact you other than via this blog. My name is Heidi and our sons met at Union, and I guess have agreed to room together!? Wonderful! I grew up in Steilacoom, WA and in my teen years my parents and I worshipped and served at First Baptist Church of Lakewood. After I left home and married my parents eventually moved to Lake City Community Church a little closer to home. They are now both in heaven but my sister still lives in Puyallup and her sons and their familes live in the greater Tacoma area. My brother and his wife have lived in Seattle for a number of years. I was thrilled when Christian came back and told me he had made a connection with a prospective student from Lakewood! : ) In May I am coming down to the area to help my sister who is having a knee replacement surgery and will be in the area for a few weeks. I would love to meet you and connect with your family if that works with your schedule?? Christian has applied for the honors program as well, and so has his best friend Jesse Dahms. So if they all get in that program that would be wonderful as they can study together! :) Christian has also just applied for the debate team and the possible debate scholarship. We will see what comes of it.

I also homeschooled our kids, Christian through 6th grade and our daughter through 9th. Then with my husband the principal at our local high school they went to the local public school, Palmer High School.

I won’t take up a lot of your blog space to post information about us, but if you want to email me privately you may or I am on facebook too! :) Heidi (Heitmiller) Winter

Hope to hear from you some time soon!

    In Christ,

    1. Hi Heidi Heitmiller, I think? It’s Lee from 1959 I have pictures of me in your parents home playing with Lincoln Logs in the rec-room/ liveing room so many years ago. How are you?

      1. Hi Lee, I’m not sure how I stumbled on this. I am sorry that I didn’t reply sooner, but I don’t even know how I got here. Are you on Facebook? I am up in AK now. Would love to reconnect with you. Our Mom’s were such dear friends!
