P365 - Day 122 (More Daniel’s b-day)
Daniel got a package from Thailand today! Cool. We love packages of all sizes and shapes and ones that come close to your birthday are especially adored.
This particular package was from our friends who are serving in Thailand with New Tribes. Daniel waited until everyone had gathered around to watch him (have to savor the moment and all that). After he had the proper audience support, Daniel opened up the box and read the card.
“Do you want to take a picture, Mom?” He asked. Sigh. He obviously knows me too well and knows I have a serious case of OCB (obsessive compulsive blogging).
It turns out Daniel was given a Takraw ball from his friend, Zachary. Now Daniel can twist and turn and kick the ball like the boys in Thailand.
We’ll see how long that lasts before he hurts himself or a younger sibling.

I know all these new Thai words can be confusing! Songkran was the water festival. Takraw is the ball. I guess that is not as bad as ordering stir fried hand bag for lunch like we have, and still do!
Glad you like the ball Daniel! We have one at our house too, so practice up so you and Zach can play when we come home.

OCB - Kathy, I like it. I can tell my family I have my OWN alphabet label now. LOL
We had balls like that in the Philippines too…but I can’t remember what we called them…ours were made out of bamboo…. the kids also had baseball like hats made out of soda cans……I miss having mom and dad over there to send the kids unique gifts. LOL

De’Etta - I’d love to know what they were called in the Philippines. Did they play with them like soccer? I think these ones are supposed to be used without any hands or arms. The ball is rather hard (definitely not a soft ball).
