Heisann – Hello Norway

Heisann – that may or may not mean something in Norwegian. Either way we are very glad relieved to hear from Rachel and Joshua. They arrived safe and sound in Norway in the afternoon our time (which was late in the night for them) and will now begin the next phase of their World Travel Adventures.

christian isn't sure about my camera taking abilities

This little guy joined us at the park today but would NOT smile for the camera.

Back at home in Washington, we try to keep ourselves occupied with school, play dates and chocolate. I made a double batch of chocolate crinkle dough this morning. It’s sitting in the fridge, all ready to be made into delicious cookies. I’m sure that will help take our minds off our beloved missing children.

Can you hear Daniel sniffling and crying in the background at the thought of his older siblings? Or maybe it’s chuckling and snorting. Let’s not listen too closely.

play date at the park!

There were a couple more kids included in our park outing but they were off playing and didn’t have time to be photographed. Too busy for a photo shoot? Shameful!

Thank you for praying for our two precious traveling babies children.

  1. This is Joshua commenting from Timothy’s computer. We are here in Norway, safe and sound. Had a lovely time in Germany, went up to several castles and a few other places. We have not really adjusted to the time difference here yet. This makes things difficult. We are having a great time so far, I hope all is well back home. I will see if I can figure out how to E-mail from here.

  2. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the word of safe arrivals!! I know they will have a wonderful time. I am praying gramma and grampa will get well soon and be able to enjoy the visit, too.

I love you Edgrens. Aunt Kate

  3. Looks gorgeous there! I don’t think I’ve ever encountered the word “heisann” before. What is it? Folks here often just say “hei, hei” (hi, hi). It’s gorgeous here. Perfect for yard work or napping. Hmm. Tough decision.

  4. That’s so cool that you let your kids travel. I have definitely been shaped by the trips I’ve taken, but I wasn’t as young as your kids when I did it!

  5. If I make up a batch with the kids or Andrew around they’re guaranteed to eat so much dough I hardly get any cookies. :)

And I love the picture, the look on his face is so telling.

  6. Hi Kathy,
    Love the pics.
Thanks for stopping by my site. The only one in our family who balks at times at the veggies is my youngest who’s 9. But she has to at least have a few and often I’ll have salad as an option which she really likes. I will also give her choices as to what veggie she wants for a meal. So it’s not always veggies she doesn’t care for. She somehow decided one day that she doesn’t like any green vegetables…Okay, don’t know where that came from, but I still make the veggies and she still has to have a few.
